Artifex Drinks approached Notch Digital with a clear ambition: to establish a distinctive brand identity that would support their growth as a specialist drinks supplier in both the UK and the US. From the outset, the project centred on the creation of a strong, ownable marque. The capital A became the foundation for the exploration, with early concepts focusing on negative‑space bottle forms, geometric structures and heritage‑inspired motifs. The challenge was to strike the right balance between modernity and tradition, ensuring the identity felt rooted but not nostalgic, confident but not loud.
The final brand mark achieves exactly that. It carries a subtle British influence through its refined serif structure and balanced proportions, yet remains contemporary enough to sit comfortably within a premium drinks market. The marque is versatile, scalable and instantly recognisable, giving Artifex a visual anchor that can grow with the business.

Alongside the core identity, Notch developed a series of packaging concepts to demonstrate how the brand could extend across shipping boxes, labels and wholesale materials. These concepts introduced a clean, trade‑focused layout system supported by short, purposeful messaging designed for transit packaging.
