With over twenty‑five years’ experience in brand design and digital marketing, I’ve spent my entire career helping businesses communicate clearly, look sharper and perform better online. My background spans leading design agencies, running my own digital business, and managing large‑scale web operations for one of the UK’s most significant property groups.
Today, I work under my freelance trading name, Notch Digital Marketing. This allows me to focus on what I enjoy most: working directly with clients to create meaningful, effective digital work that genuinely supports their growth.
Early Career
I began my career working for design agencies across Scotland and England, gaining hands‑on experience in branding, creative direction and digital communication. These early years shaped my approach to design, strategic, commercially focused and always centred on the needs of the end user.
Building a Digital Agency in Hale
In 1999, I founded my own digital agency on Ashley Road, Hale, Altrincham. Over the next fifteen years, I grew the business to a team of more than forty specialists, delivering branding, web design and digital marketing for clients across the UK. Leading that agency taught me how to balance creativity with operational clarity, manage large teams and deliver consistently high‑quality work at scale.
Corporate Experience at Peel L&P
After exiting the agency, I joined Peel L&P, where I spent eight years working across their extensive property portfolio. I began as a graphic designer before progressing to Web Governance Manager — a role that involved overseeing digital standards, managing large website ecosystems and ensuring brand consistency across multiple platforms.
Property Sector & Lead Generation
I continued in the property sector for a further two years, focusing specifically on digital lead generation for the buy‑to‑let market. This period deepened my understanding of conversion strategy, user behaviour and the commercial realities of property marketing.
Returning to My Roots
Today, I’ve returned to what I enjoy most: working freelance with my own pool of clients on fresh branding projects and high‑performing website design and development. Through Notch Digital Marketing, I support local businesses with modern, cost‑effective websites that convert, combining decades of experience with a hands‑on, personal approach.
